50TH ANNIVERSARY GRAPHICS

in-house // print design

Poor Richard’s has been a staple in downtown Colorado Springs for over 50 years. Starting out as a bookstore and evolving into a space where people can eat, shop, and hang out. This included the addition of Little Richard's Toy Store, Rico's Cafe, and Poor Richard's Restaurant.

The previous graphic designer started working on anniversary graphics creating a unique armadillo character celebrating the anniversaries of the multiple businesses.

I utilized these assets and further explored ideas. The goal was to start with street level graphics due to the amount of downtown foot traffic. Using the armadillo character developed for a Little Richard’s Toy Store, we expanded the look adding additional balloons signifying the time the multiple businesses have been established while putting emphasis on the 50th anniversary.

Shoutout to Lauren for creating these wonderful characters. Check out their awesome portfolio at lauren-memarian.com.
